The month of November has been designated as Picture Book Month. As a young child, I remember sitting in my grandmother’s lap and listening to her read-aloud. When my grandmother would finish reading a story, I would beg her to read another one. The beautiful, color illustrations in the book and the musical rhythm of the words in her voice made me want to grow up to be able to read just like her. Picture books gave me the desire to want to learn to read.
My favorite picture book is Koala Lou by Mem Fox. The main character in the story, Koala Lou, goes out of her way to get the attention and love of her mother. The repetition of the words, “Koala Lou, I do love you,” makes me feel that the story is comforting, warm, and happy.
My favorite picture book is “The Pout-Pout Fish.” It is precious story about a fish who gets his frown turned upside down.
My favorite picture book is “Llama Llama Mad at Momma” (and any other of the Llama Llama books). They are so cute and the rhyme too!
i like that tooooooooooooo

My favorite book is Little Red Ridinghood. For years my kindergarten class performed a version, of the play/story Llittle Red Ridinghood.I like to make the trees, animals, and flowers talk/warn Little Red Ridinghood about the Big Bad Wolf.
I like to change change/retell the story after I read the book.

It’s hard to choose because there are so many wonderful picture books! Stellaluna is one of my favorites because it touches my heart and the hearts of my students.
